Dr. Charles Lawson
Dr. Charles Lawson was born and raised in Coffee County. He began his educational career in Ms. Suzi Boyd’s kindergarten class at Hillsboro Elementary and graduated from Coffee County Central High School in 1989. Dr. Lawson completed his teacher training at Middle Tennessee State University and began his teaching career in 1995. Dr. Lawson taught for a total of 16 years, including stops in Idaho Falls, Idaho; Skwentna, Alaska; Wasilla, Alaska; Franklin County Schools, Tennessee; Coffee County Schools, Tennessee; Larsen Bay, Alaska; and Tullahoma, Tennessee. Dr. Lawson was an assistant principal for three years at Tullahoma High School and was a principal at East Middle School for four years before joining Coffee County Schools as Director of Schools in the summer of 2019. Dr. Lawson is excited to return home and work with the staff of Coffee County Schools to provide the same positive learning environment he experienced as a student.
